Circulation

The library currently has over 66,000 items available to be checked out, including books, videos, audiobooks, magazines and pamphlets. Library materials are checked out for a three week period. Items which have not been reserved by another patron may be renewed once, either in person or by phone.

Fines are ten cents per item per day, beginning after a 3 day grace period. Fines are only assessed for days that the library is open. Costs of replacement and processing are charged for lost or damaged items.

Library cards

Since the library district is funded primarily by taxes levied on property within the district, library cards are available free of charge to patrons who reside or own property within the library district. Individuals who live outside the library district, or do not own property within the district, may purchase a library card for $25 for six months, or $45 for one year.

Individuals holding cards from any one of the other Curry County public libraries may receive a library card free of charge following verification from the primary library that the patron is in good standing with the primary library.

To apply for a resident library card, you must have one of the following forms of identification showing a street address within the district (P.O. boxes alone are not sufficient):

If you cannot provide any of the above, you may use a written statement from a parent, guardian, or other person who resides at the same address as you, attesting to your residential address. You must also present one of the above forms of proof of their street address.

Children under 16 years old must have a parent or guardian present to sign up for a library card.

Interlibrary Loan

If the library doesn't own the book or magazine article you are looking for, we may be able to borrow it from another library. Interlibrary loans are generally checked out for one three week period, with no renewal. You will be charged $2.00 per book, to cover the cost of postage, payable when the book is picked up.
